OC効果？

モデストマウスがビルボードアルバムチャート1位、サブポップのシンズも同じくビルボード1位、アーケイドファイアはビルボード2位と、アメリカの音楽界は今凄い事になってますね。これ全部インディーロックチャートの話じゃなくて総合チャートの話です。どうしてこんな事態が起こってるかとゆうと、おそらく話題のセレブドラマ「OC」の効果で、このドラマのクリエイターがインディーロックのファンらしく、ドラマの中ではいつもインディーロックがかかり、マリッサ達が行くライヴハウスでもインディーミュージシャンが演奏してたりします。R&Bやヒップホップがヒップな音楽だった今まで、ついにインディーロックまでヒップな音楽になるなんて思ってもみなかったのでなんだか嬉しいです。この流れが日本にも来る事を願いつつ。それと、一番嬉しかったのは、モデストマウスとアーケイドファイアの新作どちらもデヴィッド・バーン色が強いとゆう事、やっぱデヴィッド・バーンは凄いな。

トーン・クラスター

最近は、トーン・クラスターを用いて作られたリゲティの「ヴォルーミナ」を聴いては空へぶっ飛ばされる毎日です。子供の頃、妹のピアノでトーン・クラスターばりにバァーーーンと凶悪な音を出してはいつも親に叱られてました。トーン・クラスターを使ったポップミュージックなんてあると面白いですね。バァーーーン！！
